Resolutions Any Day Of The Year
Many people start New Year's Resolutions on January 1st. And how many are still sticking with their resolutions by mid-January? Not very many, I'll bet. (NOTE: I re-use the same New Year's Resolution every year, and I've never had a problem sticking with it. My resolution? To not eat caviar.)
However, there are no laws that say that resolutions can only be started on New Year's Day. It's either 3½ months too late for that, or 8½ months too early, and I want to start now.
Anyway, there are some things I would like to change in my life. Probably the main thing is my health. When you're a big guy, it's hard to find decent clothes that fit. Plus, it would be nice to have some energy, instead of spending so much of my time feeling tired. So, instead of bitching and moaning about it, I'm going to start doing something about it.
I cannot diet. That's not to say that I can't or won't adjust what and how much I eat -- I can and I will. But I won't waste my effort on a total deprivation system. In the end, that would be doomed to failure. Instead of dieting, I plan on eating more sensibly. Also, I need to start exercising. And, just as they always say on TV, I did check with my doctor, and he approved my exercise plan.
So, having said I'm going to work on getting myself in shape in a public venue such as this, I feel that my feet are somewhat held to the fire, and I will HAVE TO go through with it. Don't worry, this won't be turning into a health journal... It's still going to be anything I feel like ranting or raving about, or anything else on which I feel like waxing poetically. But, as I make any kind of progress, I'll post it here. And if I make any startling discoveries that I feel might help other people, I'll share those as well.
You have been warned!

Hello Jim!
I stumbled upon your blog thru Yahoo 360. You know how you click on a friend's profile, and then click on their friends profile which then leads to more clicking of friends....until you don't even know where you started...LOL
Anyway, just wanted to say good luck with the resolution of eating better and more exercise! I am in the same boat as you. I am joining Curves today in order to get the exercise. Now, if only there was a way for me to get a handle on the eating, I'd be all set! LOL If you come up with any great tips or words of wisdom during your journey to better health, I look forward to reading them in your blog.
Take care!
Dee :-)
BTW....I used to belong to a Yahoo BBW Group you were in a long time ago I believe....I got married and dropped out of the group. That is why when I saw your profile I checked in out...a familiar face in a sea of online faces.
Hey Jim,
It's much easier to diet when you've got a diet buddy. It's also easier when you have someone to be accountable to. I'm being accountable to myself. You've put it on the web. Just concentrate on feeling better. I've been doing the Sedona Diet, because I like all the food. Don't know your personal favorites, but it's the easiest I've ever done so far and I feel pretty good. I've lost 40 pounds so far. :)
So if you need encouragement, just give a yell. You're a great looking guy and you deserve to feel as great as you look.
hugs
Jackie Sue
