An Inconvenient Myth

Funny thing about the Nobel Peace Prize. I'll bet a lot of people don't realize that's it's not just some fancy statue you win (actually, it's a medal). There's also cash. A boatload of it. About 1.4 million dollars worth of it.

Next year, I'm thinking of making a documentary about the Tooth Fairy. I could sure use that kind of cash.

You have a right not to like Al Gore or his film, but I do hope you're not suggesting that he made the film in order to win the Nobel Peace Prize. Also, he shares the prize money with the United Nations committee on climate change - again, you don't have to support their work, but they're not buying Bentleys with the cash.

No, I realize that he didn't do it for the Peace Prize. I believe that *he* believes in what he's doing. I also believe that his theories are incorrect. Not that I know anything about it; but there are enough prominent scientists who say that the whole global warming thing is nothing but hysteria.

Furthermore, Gore is already wealthy; I know he doesn't need the money, and in fact, on the radio they said he was donating his share to charity.

I was just trying to be a smart-ass. Guess I need to try harder!

Would you please explain how a documentary on the tooth fairy could land a NPP? I mean, I get that you were just saying that as a ridiculous example...but I'm just trying to give you another writing prompt.
Hope your son is feeling well, hope you're doing ok, and etc...

Jim I got your sarcasim and I think your post was hysterical.

~nods head~

While I am a conservative tree hugging, recycle happy woman of the green parade...I do know that WE are the THEY in all the info Mr Gore provided.

At least he is doing something *he* beleives in rather than let his WIFE do it!!!

Let's co-write the tooth fairy, documentary...

You should read the Michael Chricton book "State of Fear", it deals with the over sensationalism of the environmental topic. I do not think Al Gore was all wrong, but I do believe that like any other topic a person wishes to defend they bias all their evidence to fit. There are global environmental issues... which could be easily solved if we just killed off 75% of the world population. :)
