So, What Did You Do Last Week? Me, I Aced A Calculus Exam and Bought A House

OK, the second part of that is wishful thinking.

I put an offer on a house... won't know if it's accepted until at least next week.

But I did ace the calculus exam, that part is real (2nd straight exam I got a 92 on).

And, believe it or not, I did both of those things on the same day!

There -- I hope all is cleared up.

Carry on.

Whew!

Well, I got through the semester.

Really, I got done with my last final Tuesday. I guess I was just a little stressed out, so it's taken a few days to decompress from it all. It had been a few years since I'd been in school, so I think I might've taken it for granted, just a little. (But now I know better.)

Tuesday was my final in Pre-Calculus. I printed out the image below and gave it to my instructor, then I asked him if he would give me extra credit for it. He said he would, if I were to write my name on it, which I did.

Found my grade posted yesterday on my online account... I got an "A". I guess he must've liked my print-out!

O.M.O.C.

Whew.

I haven't had a lot of time to post lately. (Ya noticed, huh?) School has kept me busy the last couple of months, even though I'm only taking nine credits. I think part of it is, I haven't been in school in three years. Another part might be that I'm attending a "traditional university", as opposed to the business school from which I got my bachelor's degree. In other words, these classes might be a bit more demanding. (And next semester, I'm upping the ante to ten credits... should be interesting.)

If you're wondering about the title, O.M.O.C. = Old Man On Campus... sort of a play on words on the old phrase, Big Man On Campus. I say that somewhat in jest... I am far from the oldest student on campus. One lady in one of my classes is eight years older than me.

Amazingly, I haven't been invited to pledge to any frats yet (no, I am not kidding). But, don't worry... I'll keep ya posted.

I'm An Eagle

I received a phone call yesterday, and it's official.

I'm an Eagle.

Not this kind of eagle...

No, more like this kind of eagle...

I've been accepted as a graduate student at Eastern Michigan University.

Now, here's the part where you'll probably call me crazy...

I'll be going for my teaching certificate.

At least I finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up BEFORE I turned 47 (which is this coming Monday).

Back to school... I am both excited and a teensy bit scared... It has been three years since I've been in school (that is, if you count the five minutes I spent in law school as "being in school".... but, I digress [what else is new?] ).

Obviously, more on this to come in the weeks and months ahead...
